Loving Our World
"And [Jesus] said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." -Mark 16:15
At Covenant, we believe proclaiming the gospel to the world is a non-negotiable for followers of Christ. To that end, we seek to equip and provide opportunities for proclaiming the good news about Jesus in word and deed, in Berks County and to the World. Below are some of the ways we currently pursue this goal.
Covenant Church reaches out to our local community through: running a weekly ESL class, helping out at a local homeless shelter (Hope Rescue Mission), and conducting worship services at a nearby nursing home (Spruce Manor). Members of our church are also involved with: an Adoption Support Group, Good News Club, Mercy Community Crisis Pregnancy Center, and others.
Covenant Church has a robust missions program. We support a missionary couple to Africa sent from our own congregation, as well as the missionaries sent out by our denomination (See OPC Short-Term Missions and OPC Committee on Foreign Missions). We also organize annual mission trips to the Ukraine, Haiti, Restoration Farm, and the Boardwalk Chapel. We would love to have you come on one of our trips! Speak with a pastor or elder for more information.
